Paamul sits at the heart of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef — the second largest coral reef system in the world. Our dive sites offer something for every level, from calm shallow reefs perfect for beginners to deep walls and drift dives for the experienced.
Snapper City
A stunning site teeming with large schools of yellowtail snapper that swirl around the coral formations in mesmerizing clouds. The reef is rich with sea fans, sponges, and a variety of reef fish, making it a favorite for underwater photographers and nature lovers alike.
Pedregal
A rocky reef site characterized by large boulders and coral heads that create a dramatic underwater landscape. Home to moray eels, lobsters, and a diverse range of reef fish hiding in the crevices. A great site for exploratory diving.
Paamul Reef
Our home reef and one of the most accessible dive sites on the Riviera Maya. A beautiful shallow-to-medium depth reef with excellent visibility, vibrant coral gardens, sea turtles, rays, and an abundance of tropical fish. Perfect for all experience levels.
Ruina
A unique site where ancient coral formations create an almost architectural underwater landscape. The broken reef structures provide shelter for a wide variety of marine life, including nurse sharks, spotted eagle rays, and colorful reef fish.
Montaña de Peces
A sister site to Mountain of Fish, this underwater peak rises dramatically from the sandy bottom and is surrounded by swirling schools of fish. The coral coverage is exceptional, with large brain corals, elk horn formations, and sea fans.
Columbo
A deep, dramatic wall dive that drops into the blue, offering experienced divers the thrill of open-water depth alongside stunning coral formations. Large pelagic fish are commonly spotted here, along with turtles and the occasional reef shark.
Calentador
Named for the warm water currents that pass through this site, Calentador is a drift dive that carries divers effortlessly over a beautiful reef. The warm water attracts an incredible diversity of marine life, including rays, turtles, and tropical fish.
Punta Benado
A scenic point dive at the tip of a coral promontory, where two currents meet and create a rich feeding ground for marine life. Divers can expect to see eagle rays, barracuda, large groupers, and dense schools of fish congregating around the point.
Escuela
A calm, shallow site ideal for training dives and beginner divers. The gentle conditions and clear visibility make it a perfect classroom for new divers learning their skills, while still offering beautiful coral formations and abundant reef fish to discover.
La Pared
A dramatic wall dive where the reef drops steeply into deep blue water, revealing an impressive vertical landscape covered in corals, sponges, and sea fans. Turtles, eagle rays, and large groupers are frequent visitors along this stunning underwater cliff.
